Job summary

Astute's Power Team in Exeter, Devon is recruiting a Shift Team Leader for an Energy from Waste Power Station. The role offers a basic salary of £65,363 plus a £6,594 shift allowance and up to 10% bonus, plus overtime and benefits.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will supervise shift teams, maximise waste input and energy production, manage safety systems and permits, conduct risk assessments, and help drive KPI performance in a heavy process environment.

Qualifications

• A formal qualification such as NVQ Level 3/HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline will be ideal.
• HV Senior Authorised Person status will be highly advantageous
• A Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH/NEBOSH would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Supervising shift teams to ensure the efficient maintenance and operation of the plant, organising shift cover when needed
• Maximising waste input and energy production
• Carrying out return to work meetings and discussing requirements to meet KPI's
• Managing the sites safety systems including the permit to work system and acting as a HV Senior Authorised Person for the purpose of issuing permits, switching and carrying out isolations
• Carrying out risk assessments and will be working closely with the management team to improve and minimise the impacts at the Energy from Waste Plant
• Routine testing to ensure emergency safety and environmental procedures and recording information as required

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market leading Energy company to recruit a Shift Team Leader for their Energy from Waste Power Station in Exeter, Devon.

The pivotal Shift Team Leader role comes with a basic salary of £65,363 + £6,594 Shift Allowance + up to 10% Bonus + Overtime + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Shift Team Leader

Personal skills, knowledge and experience

• Prior experience in an operational role within a power station will be essential. This could be energy from waste, coal, CCGT, biomass, etc
• Excellent proven leadership skills
• Good Knowledge of safe systems of work and health & safety within a power station or similar heavy process environment
• Royal/Merchant Navy Engineers at senior level would be highly encouraged to apply
