Job description

Astute People's Power Team is exclusively working with the South Clyde Energy Centre to recruit a full team of Operations & Maintenance staff. The plant, currently under construction, will process up to 350,000 tonnes of waste annually, generating power for approximately 70,000 homes. This new Power Station is scheduled to commence commercial operation by the end of 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join during the plant's commissioning, training, and mobilisation phases.

Position: Shift Operations Technician

We are seeking a Shift Operations Technician to join the Operations Team at this new facility. The role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Operate the plant safely and efficiently during normal operations, start-ups, shutdowns, and emergencies.
2. Monitor the plant via the Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure consistent fuel supply to the boiler, maintaining steam pressure and power generation according to contractual obligations.
3. Ensure operational demands are met and monitor emissions to comply with Environmental Permits.
