Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Multi-Skilled Technician (Elec) to support M&E maintenance across hospital sites in Newcastle, including Royal Victoria Infirmary & Freeman Hospital. The role follows a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off days and nights.

You will work as part of a team under the M&E Supervisor to ensure preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and rapid response to faults, with opportunities for development in building services.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and multi-discipline maintenance including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting, nurse call, DHW, LTHW and ventilation.
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
• Able to work independently with good customer awareness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day planned preventative maintenance of M&E across hospital sites.
• Maintain plant and equipment per O&M manuals, best practice, and guidelines.
• Respond to reactive calls within contractual timescales and complete job sheets and reports.
• Test emergency lighting (BS EN 5266), fixed wire testing (BS EN 7671), and lightning protection (BS EN 62305); rectify faults.
• Assist in supervising subcontractors, carry out isolations, and follow SSOW and procedures.

We're looking for aMulti-Skilled Technician (Elec)who will form part of a team providing a high level of maintenance support to the M&E Supervisor across hospital sites in Newcastle.

Role Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of M&E maintenance is completed in line with contractual obligations.


• Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with O&M manuals, best practice and relevant guidelines/legislation.


• Respond to reactive calls in line with contractual time scales and complete job sheets, reports and documentation as required.


• Carry out testing on emergency lighting systems (BS EN 5266), fixed wire testing (BS EN 7671), and lightning protection systems (BS EN 62305), rectifying faults where necessary.


• Assist in supervising subcontractors, carry out isolations, and follow SSOW, policies and procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications:Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

• Previous experience of electrical and/or multi-disciplined maintenance, including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, nurse call, DHW, LTHW, and ventilation systems.


• Good interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and experience in Health & Safety legislation.


• Ability to work independently using own initiative, with excellent customer awareness and team working skills.
