Job summary

CL Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced shift multi skilled engineer with a mechanical bias to join a manufacturing site in Ammanford, Wales.

The role covers a 3-shift pattern, Monday to Friday, focusing on breakdown response, planned maintenance, and root-cause investigation to minimise downtime.

You will work with pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive systems, develop continuous improvement actions, and contribute to safe, reliable plant operation.

Qualifications

• Experience with workshop equipment and welding
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
• Knowledge of pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, pistons and related components
• Experience with variable speed drives AC/DC and fault diagnosis

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client in the area, is looking for an experienced shift multi skilled engineer with a mechanical bias, to work a 3 shift pattern, Monday to Friday. The main responsibilities will be to attend breakdowns and minimise production downtime; complete scheduled planned and preventative routines and undertake necessary corrective actions; participate in investigating and correcting process, product and quality related issues; help with the fault finding, diagnostic and corrective actions to maintain and improve the operation of the process equipment.

The main skills required for the role: knowledge of workshop equipment; welding experience; ability to read and interpret electrical / mechanical drawings; good mechanical appreciation and knowledge of pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, pistons etc; experience of working with variable speed drives AC / DC; ability to plan, review and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives.
