Job summary

Zest is partnering with a well established, multi-site food manufacturer in the Leicester Forest East area to recruit a Shift Manager. The role runs Mon-Fri days and requires hands-on leadership in a chilled environment, ideally with meat experience.

You will drive Health & Safety, production planning and strict food safety/quality standards while working cross-functionally with Technical, Engineering and Planning teams to implement Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in middle management within food manufacturing.
• Experience in a chilled manufacturing environment, ideally meat.
• Hands-on leadership style with clear communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Health & Safety compliance and food safety standards.
• Lead production planning and ensure targets are met.
• Collaborate with Technical, Engineering and Planning teams to drive improvements.
• Identify and implement Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
