Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Shift Manager to strengthen our depot operations management team.

You will work closely with our self-employed Owner Drivers (ODs) and Employed Drivers, building strong relationships, keeping drivers engaged, well-managed, and motivated to deliver outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure depot targets for Core Routes are achieved.
2. Ensure Stops Per Route (SPR) targets are met.
3. Properly set all other delivery and collection routes.
4. Ensure drivers scan and load their vans safely, timely, and efficiently.
5. Maintain ongoing communication with drivers to resolve issues.
6. Ensure resources are available for ad-hoc collections, utilizing your driver pool or couriers/agencies.
7. Complete all relevant documentation and systems accurately, complying with company and legislative requirements.
8. Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators including Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport, and Health and Safety.
9. Achieve 'Depot Clear' in line with depot targets.

Ideal candidates will have experience in a fast-paced operation with proven people management skills, particularly within a transport setting. We expect:

• Excellent computer skills, particularly with Google Chrome applications.
