The University of Birmingham Guild of Students invites applications for a Shift Manager to support the Venues department’s events, bars and catering delivery, while ensuring safety and a welcoming environment for students and staff. You will help drive a culture of inclusion and teamwork.

Key responsibilities include supervising staff, managing day-to-day operations, and assisting with staff training, stock control and financial systems. The role offers competitive pay and various staff benefits.

Qualifikationen

• Experience managing staff in a venue/bar environment.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Ability to lead shifts in absence of manager.
• Admin tasks: training, stock control, cellar duties, facilities and financial systems maintenance.

Aufgaben

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of venues, with focus on bars and catering and security of customers, staff and building.
• Lead and supervise staff, in the absence of Pub Manager or Deputy Pub Manager.
• Assist in administrative responsibilities: staff training, stock control, cellar duties, facilities and financial systems maintenance, plus helping venue presentation, promotions, events and activities.
