SHIFT MANAGER:

Job description:

Job description: We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shift Manager to join our front-of-house team at Capparelli at the Mill. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and prior experience in supervising teams in a restaurant, café, or deli environment.

This role involves taking responsibility for the restaurant floor during service, leading the team, ensuring smooth daily operations, and upholding exceptional standards of customer service. The Shift Manager will play an important role in staff support, guest experience, and maintaining the high standards that define Capparelli at the Mill.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead front-of-house operations during service, ensuring consistency and smooth running of shifts.
  • Support and supervise staff on the floor, at tills, and with takeaway customers.
  • Handle customer enquiries and complaints with professionalism, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and end-of-day reporting.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring staff, encouraging a positive team culture.
  • Monitor stock levels on the floor and communicate shortages to management
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
  • Take responsibility for the restaurant team in the absence of the General Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or retail environment, with some supervisory or team leader experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
