Job summary

The Compleat Food Group in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead a large production team in our busy food manufacturing facility. You will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of production targets while developing a positive, high-performing culture.

Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will drive continuous improvement, manage labour and plans, and coach teams to achieve excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous Shift Manager experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and develop people.
• Strong food safety, quality and health & safety knowledge.
• Experience managing performance, absence and development.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Hands-on leader with continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead production teams to meet operational targets and drive performance.
• Maintain food safety, quality, hygiene and safety standards.
• Coach and develop staff to improve performance and engagement.
• Plan labour and resources to maximize efficiency.
• Support employee relations and conduct performance reviews.

Join our Operations team at The Compleat Food Group!

We're looking for an experienced Shift Manager to join our growing food manufacturing operation in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Factory Manager, you'll lead a large production team, ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of production targets while driving a positive, high-performing culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop production teams to achieve operational and performance targets.
• Ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, hygiene and health & safety are consistently maintained.
• Drive a positive performance culture through coaching, training and continuous team development.
• Manage labour, resources and production plans to maximise efficiency and productivity.
• Support employee relations activities, including absence management, investigations and performance reviews.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver excellent service and customer satisfaction.

About You

• Previous experience as a Shift Manager within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Proven ability to lead, engage and develop large teams.
• Strong understanding of food safety, quality and health & safety standards.
• Experience managing performance, absence and employee development.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• A proactive, hands-on leader with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• HACCP and/or Food Safety qualifications.
• Engineering or project management experience.
• Auditing experience.
