The Compleat Food Group in Poole, Dorset is seeking an Engineering Shift Technician to maintain and improve production lines. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and support continuous improvement within a food manufacturing environment.

You'll join a dedicated engineering team, working to GMP standards and mentoring apprentices while contributing to sustainability initiatives and efficiency gains. This role is full-time and site-based in Poole.

Competenze

• Experience in a similar maintenance role in a manufacturing setting.
• HND or HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Location:Poole, Dorset

Your Duties Will Include:

• Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance to ensure optimal line performance.
• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Maintain product safety and quality by adhering to GMP and hygienic engineering standards.
• Promote sustainability and efficiency through responsible resource use and process improvements.
• Ensure systems remain compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with regulatory and industry standards.
• Accurately document all maintenance activities in the CMMS and communicate effectively during shift handovers.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis to enhance reliability and performance.
• Support team development by sharing expertise and mentoring apprentices.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a similar role either as an Engineering Shift Technician, Maintenance Engineer, etc.
• Relevant Industry Qualification e.g. HND/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, etc.
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Previous experience in a food environment is beneficial but not essential
