Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting a global specialist manufacturer in Huddersfield to recruit a Production Shift Manager. This role drives productivity, quality, H&S and continuous improvement across the shift, with Monday–Friday days/afters.

You will lead large production teams, monitor KPI data and coordinate with maintenance to optimise downtime and equipment performance, while managing labour to meet schedules and controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading large production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to monitor KPI data and drive improvements.
• Strong focus on Health & Safety and quality standards.
• Proven ability to coach and develop staff.
• Experience with labour planning to meet production schedules.
• Track record of continuous improvement and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate production teams to achieve daily and long-term targets.
• Ensure products meet specification, quality standards and efficiency.
• Monitor performance data and drive improvements using KPIs.
• Analyse downtime and work with Maintenance to improve equipment.
• Manage labour planning to meet schedules while controlling costs.
• Provide clear communication and handovers between shifts.
• Take responsibility for health and safety on shift and policy compliance.
• Develop, coach and upskill your team.
• Manage performance, absence, training and 1st line management duties.
• Ensure QA systems are followed and audit-ready environment.
• Investigate quality issues and implement preventative actions.
• Promote and lead CI initiatives across the shift.

Key Responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager include:

• Lead and motivate production teams to achieve daily and long-term operational targets
• Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specification, quality standards and efficiency levels
• Monitor performance data and drive improvements using KPIs
• Analyse downtime and work closely with Maintenance to improve equipment performance
• Manage labour planning to meet production schedules while controlling costs
• Provide clear communication and effective handovers between shifts
• Take full responsibility for health and safety on shift, ensuring compliance with policies
• Develop, coach and upskill your team
• Manage performance, absence, training and all 1stline management responsibilities
• Ensure quality systems are followed and maintain an audit-ready environment
