Job summary

Five Guys is hiring a Shift Manager in the United Kingdom to support the General and Assistant Managers, ensuring every shift is run to Five Guys standards and customers leave happier than when they arrived.

You will lead the team on the line and in the dining area, bringing our values to life and driving a quality experience for guests on every shift.

Qualifications

• 1 year of management experience in a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Proven track record of driving customer satisfaction scores and Mystery Shopper results.
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front: work on the line and in the dining area to model standards.
• Support the General Manager in delivering perfect burgers and fries and an above-and-beyond guest experience.
• Create an engaging working environment where the team enjoys coming to work and lives the company values.
• Ensure every customer is delighted with their order and Five Guys experience, handling complaints promptly and honestly.
• Manage each shift to run smoothly and embody the brand values during service.

AS A SHIFT MANAGER, YOU'LL BE RESPONSBILE FOR

• Our people - Leading from the front and being hands‑on, working on the line and on the dining area
• Supporting the General Manager in the delivery of perfect burgers and fries while providing a "above & beyond" experience for your team and customers

• Ensuring every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience - You will deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way
• You will ensure that each shift runs as smoothly as possible and that our values form part of your shift management

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Experience: Ideally, you have at least 1 year of management experience in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment. You know what it takes to run a busy shift and keep the energy high
• Customer Satisfaction: You are obsessed with the guest experience and have the numbers to prove it. You have a track record of driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement, and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews
• Financial Responsibility: You understand the basics of running a profitable shift, managing crew breaks, minimising food waste, and deploying the team effectively during the rush
• Leadership Skills: You are a natural motivator who enjoys being hands‑on. You lead by example and know how to get the best out of the Crew during a busy service
• Operational Excellence: You have a good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and know how to enforce them on the line
• Flexibility: You are available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
