Job summary

M‑Tec Engineering is seeking a Shift Manager to oversee up to 25 operators and 2 team leaders on a three-shift pattern (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am). You will ensure KPI achievement, drive lean improvements, and maintain 5S standards across the line.

Responsibilities include coordinating improvement activities, monitoring attendance and training, and reporting OEE during weekly meetings. The role focuses on labour efficiency and production output in a fast-paced automotive/manufacturing

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• ILM Level 3 Management qualification.
• Knowledge of 5S principles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure team KPIs are hit and reported at the end of each shift.
• Manage 25 operators and 2 team leaders on a three-shift pattern.
• Coordinate and implement improvement activities using lean techniques.
• Measure attendance and labour requirements, and monitor training with the team.
• Enhance 5S activities and provide feedback during daily briefings.
• Generate OEE and report findings in weekly core team meetings.
• Control labour efficiency and manage scrap and housekeeping.

Job description

M‑Tec Engineering is working with a fast paced manufacturer who are looking to recruit a Shift Manager to work on a three shift pattern (6am - 2pm/2pm - 10pm/10pm-6am).

As a Shift Manager you will be responsible for up to 25 operators and 2 team leaders who work in the same time frame, ensuring 5s process are adhered too.

The Shift Manager will be responsible for:

• Ensuring team KPI's are hit and reported at the end of the shift.
• Manage cell leaders and coordinate & implement improvement activities using lean techniques
• Measure and monitor accurate timekeeping & attendance records together with labour & training requirements with you team
• Improve 5S activities and feedback to team during daily team briefing sessions
• Generate OEE and advise accordingly through weekly core team meetings to assist with closure of any issues that affect OEE.
• Control labour efficiency and manufacturing output; Efficiencies, Scrap Control and Management of housekeeping

Qualifications

• Management experience in the automotive sector (or any other fast paced manufacturing sector)
• ILM Level 3 Management.
• Knowledge of 5s.
