Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a busy high-output manufacturing site in Northamptonshire, on a Panama night shift. You’ll maintain electrical and mechanical systems, diagnose faults, and keep production running efficiently.

You will join an engineering team that values technical development and offers progression toward a Team Leader position, with ongoing training and a hands-on, varied role in a modern plant environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical or multi-skilled engineering.
• City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 Electro-Technical qualification alongside NVQ Level 3 Electrical Maintenance.
• Completed an engineering apprenticeship or time-served.
• HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical or Production Maintenance Engineering.
• Experience fault-finding on PLC-controlled machinery.
• Strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Ambition to develop skills and progress into a Team Leader position.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across production machinery.
• Diagnosing and rectifying faults, including PLC-controlled systems.
• Responding promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to improve reliability.
• Identifying recurring faults and supporting CI initiatives.
• Working with production and engineering colleagues to keep operations safe and efficient.
• Supporting the wider team and taking on more responsibility as you develop.
• Working toward Team Leader responsibilities for the right individual.

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background and good mechanical capability. Ideally, you'll have experience within a manufacturing, production or other high‑volume engineering environment.

You may have one or more of the following:

• BTEC/ONC or equivalent qualification in an Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering discipline.
• City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 Electro‑Technical qualification alongside NVQ Level 3 Electrical Maintenance.
• Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or be time‑served.
• HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical or Production Maintenance Engineering.
• Experience fault‑finding on PLC‑controlled machinery.
• A strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
