Job summary

Pioneer Selection are working with a major manufacturing site near Andover, Hampshire, to appoint a Shift Maintenance Engineer for nights. You will maintain production machinery, diagnose faults and perform planned maintenance to maximise uptime, on a Sunday–Thursday night pattern.

The role offers £54,000 plus an annual bonus and a strong benefits package, with clear progression opportunities to Lead Engineer as you gain experience in a fast-paced, automated environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on maintenance including planned, reactive and breakdown tasks in a fast-paced factory.
• Level 3 Engineering qualification (Electrical preferred)

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on production machinery and site equipment.
• Fault-find and troubleshoot to maximise uptime on night shift.
• Record downtime and maintenance data to improve OEE.

Job Role of the Shift Maintenance Engineer

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, fault-finding and planned preventative maintenance on a range of production machinery and site equipment—ensuring maximum uptime, reliability and performance on nights.

Sector – Factory Maintenance (Food/FMCG Manufacturing)

Non‑Negotiable Requirements of the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical or mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment
• Hands‑on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast‑paced factory
• Level 3 Engineering qualification (Electrical preferred / electrical bias)

Requirements for the Shift Maintenance Engineer

• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills (single phase / three phase)
• Experience with motors, inverters and reading/updating electrical & mechanical drawings
• Mechanical competence with pneumatics and hydraulics
• Confident working safely to site procedures (LOTO / Lock‑off Tag‑out) and H&S standards
• Ability to support continuous improvement and carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Comfortable recording/analysing downtime and maintenance data to improve OEE
