Job summary

Marshalls plc is looking for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to keep production running by eliminating downtime and fault finding across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. You’ll work on varied equipment and cover 4 on 4 off shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm, with a 42-hour week at Sittingbourne.

We value practical hands-on engineers who are apprentice trained or time served, with strong electrical knowledge and a clear focus on safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or time served in a similar position ideally.
• Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3, 18th Edition) desirable.
• Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Practical hands-on approach.
• Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
• Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
• PLC fault finding and VSD knowledge is advantageous
• Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime.
• Fault finding and maintenance of equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Carry out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site.
• Shift pattern is 4 on 4 off, covering days and nights, 6:00am to 6:00pm.
