Job summary

Marshalls plc in Sittingbourne is seeking a Shift Maintenance Engineer to maintain production, diagnose faults and carry out scheduled maintenance on a continental 4-on/4-off cycle (6:00am–6:00pm). The role offers £55,382 per annum plus overtime and benefits, working 42 hours per week.

You will work with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic systems, performing planned and reactive maintenance and collaborating with maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or time served in a similar position ideally.
• Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3, 18th Edition or equivalent are desirable).
• Good understanding of environmental and health and safety issues and regulatory requirements.
• Practical hands‑on approach.
• Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities.
• Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills with operatives and team leaders in maintenance and production.
• PLC fault finding and VSD knowledge are advantageous.
• Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous running of production by eliminating downtime with safe fault finding and maintenance.
• Work on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic control systems.
• Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on site.
• Operate on a 42-hour week with 4-on/4-off shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
