Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd. is helping a World Class manufacturing business in Hull recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician. You will maintain, service and repair plant and equipment to minimise downtime while diagnosing faults across electrical and mechanical systems on a wide range of machinery.

You will support highly automated equipment and develop knowledge of Manufacturing 4.0 technologies, with training, career progression and long-term stability in a growing company.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Bias toward mechanical or electrical maintenance.
• Fault-finding and repair across plant and equipment.
• Experience with manual and automated production machinery.
• Engineering apprenticeship completed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair manufacturing plant and equipment to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose faults and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on production machinery.
• Support highly automated equipment and learn Manufacturing 4.0 technologies.
• Record faults and maintenance activities using CMMS accurately.
• Promote safe working practices and continual improvement.
• Coach apprentices and fellow technicians; coordinate external contractors.

The Opportunity

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in:

• Maintaining, servicing and repairing manufacturing plant and equipment to minimise production downtime.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective electrical and mechanical repairs across a wide range of production machinery.
• Supporting highly automated production equipment while developing your knowledge of modern Manufacturing 4.0 technologies.
• Recording faults, breakdowns and maintenance activities accurately using the CMMS system.
• Promoting safe working practices through risk assessments and compliance with company procedures.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, increased reliability and enhanced production efficiency.
• Supporting the development of Apprentices and fellow Technicians through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinating and monitoring external contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
• Carrying out planned inspections, preventative maintenance and equipment testing.

About You

We're looking for someone who can bring:

• Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• The client will consider candidates with either a mechanical or electrical maintenance bias.
• Strong fault-finding and repair skills across manufacturing plant and equipment.
• Experience working with both manual and highly automated production machinery.
• A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Awareness of PLC-controlled machinery would be advantageous.
• Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• A proactive approach to health and safety.
• Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit Engineering team.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to continually learn, develop and share knowledge.
