Join to apply for the Shift Maintenance Assistant role at EQUANS.

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Maintenance Assistant to join our team providing maintenance at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. This is a permanent full-time position working an average of 38.5 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern of 12-hour shifts (DAYS and NIGHTS: 07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00).

The role:
  • Reporting to the Shift Lead / M&E Supervisor
  • Undertake maintenance technical duties within training and competence, both planned and reactive work.
  • Order materials and services as required and update records.
  • Perform emergency light testing, replace light bulbs and chokes/ballasts, and maintain air conditioning/fan coil units.
  • Oversee specialist sub-contractors.
  • Cover for other technicians as necessary in various buildings.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and work according to business demands.
The person:
  • Must have basic maintenance experience.
  • Experience with building services and in estates/facilities, ideally in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Legionella and maintaining Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs) is desirable.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, flexible, can-do attitude, capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Good IT skills; Maximo/CAFM experience is desirable.
