Job summary

TJ Morris Ltd seeks a Shift Leader - Mechanical for its state-of-the-art tissue converting facility in Liverpool. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, operate and maintain lines, and drive efficiency across day and night shifts.

This role focuses on reducing downtime and ensuring safe, efficient production. You must have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with drawings, and be comfortable working with pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar FMCG role, preferably tissue converting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and automated systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of operators.
• Operate equipment to required standards and meet production targets.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems (tissue converting machinery, packaging, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults; implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and ensure safe operation (LOTO-PTW).
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and document maintenance activities.
• Assist with new equipment installations and manage contractor relationships.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and maintenance procedures.

• Average 38.61 hours per week working 3 days on, 3 days off, on a rotating basis across both day shifts (6:00am–6:00pm) and night shifts (6:00pm–6:00am).
• Based in Huyton, Liverpool.
• 28 days paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 33 days upon 5 years'service
