Harrison Scott Associates is recruiting on behalf of a well-established paper products manufacturer in Essex for an experienced Tissue Converting Machine Operator. You will run production machinery, perform set-ups and adjustments, and keep the line running smoothly.

This hands-on role requires monitoring quality, carrying out routine maintenance, and minimising waste while working safely with colleagues from production and engineering.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating tissue/printing/production machinery.
• Experience with tissue, paper, or related packaging environment preferred.
• Ability to carry out changeovers and adjustments.
• Strong understanding of safety and maintaining quality.

Job Title: Tissue Converting Machine Operator

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established paper products manufacturer, who are looking to appoint an experienced Tissue Converting Machine Operator to join their production team.

This is a hands‑on role for someone with experience operating and setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for running production machinery, carrying out machine adjustments and changeovers, maintaining product quality and dealing with basic production issues to keep the line running efficiently.

• Set up, operate and monitor tissue converting machinery
• Carry out machine adjustments and product changeovers
• Monitor production output and product quality
• Identify and resolve basic machine or production issues
• Minimise waste and downtime wherever possible
• Carry out routine cleaning, inspection and basic operator maintenance
• Complete relevant production and quality records
• Work safely and follow all required procedures
• Liaise with production and engineering colleagues when required

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous hands‑on experience operating and setting converting, printing or production machinery, ideally within tissue, paper, packaging, labels or a related manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with web‑based machinery, reels, rewinding, slitting, cutting, tension control or similar converting processes would be particularly advantageous.
• A good understanding of production processes and machine settings
• The ability to identify quality issues and make appropriate adjustments
• Experience carrying out product changeovers
• Good mechanical awareness and basic fault‑finding ability
• A strong understanding of machinery safety
• A reliable, practical and hands‑on approach to production work
