Job summary

tk accelis Supply Chain Solutions UK in Preston is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead and develop our operational team across a day shift. You will drive safety, quality, cost, delivery and people KPIs while maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and high standards of housekeeping.

You will collaborate with the site leadership to plan labour and resources, optimise processes, and ensure customer requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in manufacturing, production, logistics or operations.
• Ability to plan labour/resources to meet demand and customer requirements.
• Knowledge of SQCDP, Lean Manufacturing or CI methodologies.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness and safe working practices.
• Experience monitoring KPIs and driving performance improvements.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence at all levels.
• Experience conducting team briefings and day-to-day people management.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with SOPs and workplace standards.
• Understanding of production planning and workflow management.
• Experience supporting change initiatives and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise labour/resources across the shift to complete workloads safely and on time.
• Lead and develop the team to maximise productivity and performance.
• Ensure products and processes meet customer specifications, quality standards and procedures.
• Monitor production performance and take actions to address issues impacting safety, quality, cost, delivery or people.
• Develop and implement work instructions, SOPs and workplace standards.
• Ensure standard working practices across all activities and manage WIP, cycle times and compliance.
• Update and maintain SQCDP boards with visible performance measures.
• Conduct daily shift briefings to communicate priorities and progress against targets.
• Drive continuous improvement and identify productivity and quality opportunities.
• Promote high standards of HSE and housekeeping across the shift.
• Coach and motivate team members for engagement and succession planning.
