Job summary

W Talent is recruiting a Shift Leader for a permanent role in Doncaster to lead a production team and drive safety, quality and delivery targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You'll coordinate shift activities, support continuous improvement initiatives and develop a high-performing team, promoting a strong health and safety culture and ensuring SOPs are followed.

The role offers training, long-term career prospects and a structured shift pattern (12-hour days and nights).

Qualifications

• Experience leading production teams in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and motivational skills.
• Strong understanding of production processes and continuous improvement.
• Excellent organisational skills and prioritisation.
• Strong communication and people management abilities.
• Analytical approach with problem-solving abilities.
• Flexible and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Good numeracy and general education.
• Basic IT skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all production activities on shift to meet targets.
• Promote health and safety culture and safe working practices.
• Develop and coach the production team.
• Prepare and manage daily shift plans based on demand.
• Attend handover meetings and communicate KPI information.
• Drive continuous improvement to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and support functions to resolve issues.
• Escalate issues to minimise disruption.
