Job summary

Gordon Timber is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Supervisor (Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-skilled) to own the engineering shift, coordinating with operations and management. You will ensure safe, compliant maintenance of plant and services and drive preventive and emergency maintenance aligned with production needs.

The role requires 5+ years post-apprenticeship experience in timber or heavy industrial settings, with supervisory responsibilities and an engineering certification background.

Qualifications

• Engineering apprenticeship or relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent in electrical, mechanical fields. Electrical bias preferred.
• 5+ years post-apprenticeship experience in timber or heavy industrial environments.
• Previous management or supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering shifts, communicating with operations, engineering teams and management.
• Ensure safe, compliant and efficient maintenance of plant and services.
• Plan and perform preventive and emergency maintenance to support production.
• Provide coaching and support to junior maintenance staff.
• Identify improvements to increase equipment availability and reduce downtime.
