Job summary

Arbor Forest Products Ltd in New Holland, North Lincolnshire, is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead our maintenance engineering function across two production environments. The role combines hands-on electrical and mechanical work with team leadership to improve reliability and production performance.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Experience using CMMS or computerized maintenance management system.
• Multiskilled engineering with electrical bias.
• Experience with PLC diagnostics and fault finding.
• Completed time-served apprenticeship or HNC/HND in engineering.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH qualification.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and raise engineering standards.
• Ability to positively influence team culture and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team of maintenance engineers.
• Prioritise and coordinate fault diagnosis and rectification work.
• Provide hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance support.
• Respond to breakdowns and assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Plan maintenance activities with Production Managers and Supervisors.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and within timescales.
• Minimise production downtime through effective fault diagnosis, planning and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are followed.
• Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety across the engineering function.
• Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive PPM programme.
• Manage engineering tools and spare-parts inventory.
• Use the CMMS effectively to record, monitor and manage maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering standards, reliability and team performance.
• Support and encourage a positive, proactive and improvement-focused team culture.
• Undertake occasional out-of-hours and weekend work when required.
• Follow company policies and procedures relating to health and safety and the correct use and care of equipment and materials.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Line Manager.
