Job summary

Tech-People is seeking a Shift Lead Engineer for UCLH Hospital in London. The role covers leading a two-person engineering team, managing planned and reactive maintenance, and fault-finding across M&E systems. DBS checked candidates only.

Shifts rotate 7:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00, four days on and four nights, with NHS/Hospital environment experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification (Electrical/Mechanical).
• Strong M&E fault-finding experience.
• Basic clear, in date DBS.
• Good knowledge of building services, including A/C and BMS.
• Previous NHS/healthcare experience advantageous.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proactive and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 2 engineers.
• Manage PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Fault-find across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Oversee critical M&E services and respond to escalations.
• Complete plant room checks, reports and handovers.
• Ensure H&S, compliance and SLA requirements are met.

Duration: Initially until mid-October

Rate: £23.81 PAYE / £30.99 Umbrella

Shift: 07:00-19:00 / 19:00-07:00 - alternating 4 days / 4 nights
