Job summary

PRS LTD in City of London is seeking an experienced Shift Lead Engineer with an electrical bias to lead a team on a prestigious site. The role is temp-to-perm, offering progression within a professional engineering environment.

You will perform PPM and reactive maintenance, respond to emergencies, maintain electrical and building services, and supervise subcontractors while ensuring compliance and safety. The successful candidate will have a City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical qualification, strong

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience as Shift Lead or Senior Engineer in a commercial building environment.
  • Strong understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Experience with critical building services and electrical infrastructure.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication and client-facing abilities.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and planning works.
  • Knowledge of RAMS and permit procedures.
  • Flexible shift patterns and call-out availability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of engineers during shift operations.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergency callouts and critical incidents.
  • Ensure all plant and building services are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Manage and supervise subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures and health & safety requirements.
  • Review and approve permits, RAMS, and contractor documentation.
  • Complete maintenance records, logbooks, and compliance documentation.
  • Attend client meetings and provide technical support where required.
  • Conduct emergency lighting testing and associated compliance checks.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot UPS systems and associated control systems.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, including lighting, power, wiring, testing, fire alarm systems, BMS interfaces, and associated building services equipment.
  • Support the management of building systems including HVAC and heat exchanger equipment.
