Job description

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established concrete product manufacturer in their search for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to work in Widnes.


Job Role: Working on a range of heavy industrial equipment, the Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will carry out mechanical repairs on pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and hydraulic valves. They will fabricate replacement parts and guards as needed, complete basic welding repairs, and reset and recalibrate machinery to tight tolerances. The role also involves attending emergency breakdowns on hoppers, mixers, conveyors, and hydraulic press machinery.


Job Details:

  • Pay: £41,000 per annum
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm pattern
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Overtime: Paid at x1.5 after standard hours

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Hydraulic repair
  • Mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Manufacturing industry experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Welding competence
  • Fabrication experience
  • Any electrical experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Mechanical maintenance apprenticeship or Level 3 City and Guilds or equivalent qualification
