DS Smith at Fordham is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to maintain and improve our manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment reliability and site safety. The role combines electrical and mechanical expertise to support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing maintenance, with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified maintenance professional with manufacturing engineering background.
• Experience delivering and managing preventative maintenance programmes.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across site assets.
• Ensure equipment complies with safety legislation, inspections and testing.
• Track, analyse and report equipment reliability data to identify trends.
• Lead fault-finding and problem-solving to minimise downtime.
• Work with production teams, OEMs and contractors to resolve issues.
• Maintain critical spare parts inventory levels.
