Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking an Engineering Shift Technician to join our Poole site. You will perform planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance to keep production lines operating at peak efficiency, diagnosing and fixing breakdowns quickly while upholding GMP and hygienic standards.

You will document activities in the CMMS, participate in improvements, and support regulatory compliance. The role runs a two-shift pattern in Poole, Dorset.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Engineering (NVQ, BTEC, City and Guilds, etc.).
• Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Legislation.
• Experience using CMMS systems in an engineering role.
• Previous experience in a food or FMCG production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance to ensure optimal line performance.
• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Maintain product safety and quality by adhering to GMP and hygienic engineering standards.
• Promote sustainability and efficiency through responsible resource use and process improvements.
• Ensure systems remain compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with regulatory and industry standards.
• Accurately document all maintenance activities in the CMMS and communicate effectively during shift handovers.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis to enhance reliability and performance.
