Dunraven Recruitment Ltd in Chester is seeking a Shift Engineer for a permanent, full-time role within FMCG / Food Manufacturing. The shift pattern is 4 on 4 off, 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00, with a 30-minute paid break.

Qualifications

• Essential: Relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
• Essential: Previous experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or food manufacturing environments.
• Essential: Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Essential: Experience with planned preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial machinery.
• Essential: Ability to respond effectively to machinery breakdowns in a fast-paced production setting.
• Essential: Problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Essential: Safe handling of industrial machinery with strict adherence to risk assessments.
• Essential: Ability to record maintenance activities using CMMS or similar systems.

Responsabilités

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, servicing, repairs and inspections across site machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to emergency machine breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Diagnose causes of equipment faults and perform remedial work where possible during shifts.
• Provide handovers to the next shift and Engineering Team Leader with causes and recommended solutions.
• Ensure machinery remains safe, reliable, efficient and fit for purpose.
• Carry out overhauls, repairs, modifications and improvements to equipment.
• Support design, installation, commissioning, relocation and modification of machinery.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure control measures are implemented before work begins.
• Ensure activities comply with Health & Safety legislation and company requirements.
• Record all maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and engineering standards.
