Job summary

Royal Lancaster London is seeking a dedicated Shift Engineer to join the Engineering team on a permanent basis with an immediate start. The role focuses on delivering memorable guest experiences through timely maintenance of guest rooms and hotel facilities, while supporting energy-efficient operations.

You will work 40 hours per week on a shift rota, contributing to high standards across Front & Back of House.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance and guestroom systems.
• Ability to perform reactive and proactive maintenance.
• Familiarity with Building Management System operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive maintenance to guestrooms and guest requests.
• Assist in proactive maintenance such as filter/vent cleaning and descaling.
• Maintain appearance of public/back-of-house areas with proper lighting and minor tasks.
• Oversee operation of Building Management System for economical plant operation.
• Perform basic Planned Preventative Maintenance on fixtures and fittings in guest rooms.

As a Shift Engineer, your main duties and expectations for the role will include:

• Providing a reactive maintenance service to guestrooms and guest requests
• Assistance in providing a proactive maintenance service to guestrooms in respect of filter and vent cleaning, and showerhead de-scaling.
• Ensuring that the appearance of the hotel public and back-of-house areas is maintained in respect to lighting.
• Ensuring a high standard of maintenance to general areas of the hotel both Front & Back of house in terms of minor technical tasks.
• To oversee the operation of the Building Management System to ensure plant is run economically and effectively.
• To carry out basic Planned Preventative Maintenance activities to fixtures and fittings within guest bedrooms in accordance with the company and departmental standards as required.

You will be required to work 40hours per week, on a shift rota.
