Job summary

The SARIA UK Nottingham site is inviting applications for a Shift Electrician in a 24/7 operation. The role is full-time and permanent, working 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts with on-call duties and overtime as needed, covering holidays and sickness.

You will work under H&S guidelines, liaise with the Shift Team Leader, understand steam raising, odour control, and effluent treatment, monitor equipment, perform repairs, and support the team on site.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship completed.
• Extensive electrical experience in a continuous process environment.
• Experience with electrical maintenance and breakdowns.
• Proven fault-finding abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot process problems.
• Familiar with factory maintenance practices.
• Basic familiarity with PLC logic and inverter drives.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Experience of plant operations.
• Able to work on own initiative and in a team.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

Job description

Business: SARIA’s operations in the UK are active in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Position

Applications are invited for a Shift Electrician at the Company’s SARVAL Nottingham site. This site is a 24-hour operation running 365 days per year. The role is a full-time permanent role, working 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts. There will be a requirement for you give on call support, which will be discussed at interview. You will be expected to cover shifts for holidays and sickness and work overtime as and when required.

• Working under Health & Safety guidelines
• To be initially responsible to Engineering Team Leader
• To liaise with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes.
• To understand all factory operations, including steam raising plant / Odour control and effluent treatment plant.
• Monitor all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Carry out breakdown repairs, as able, to factory equipment in a timely manner.
• Provide assistance to other shift members, as necessary, when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management.
• Site Electrical installations and upgrade work, as designated by the Electrical Team Leader.
• To carry out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules.
• To be on call for a proportion of the time.

The Person

• You must have served a recognised City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship.
• Have extensive electrical experience working in a continuous process environment.
• Have experience of handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns.
• Have proven experience with fault finding.
• Be able to troubleshoot and solve process problems.
• Be familiar with general factory maintenance practices.
• Be conversant with basic PLC logic and inverter drives.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Experience of plant operations.
• You must be able to work using your own initiative.
• Self-motivated and able to work on your own or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to converse at all levels.
