Job summary

SARVAL Nottingham is recruiting a Shift Electrician for its 24/7 operation. The role is a full-time permanent position on 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts, with on-call duties and overtime as required.

You will support electrical maintenance, monitor plant systems, and work under health and safety guidelines. You should have City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship and solid experience in a continuous process environment, with fault finding and PLC/inverter knowledge.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship completed.
• Extensive electrical experience in a continuous process environment.
• Experience with electrical maintenance and breakdowns.
• Proven fault finding ability and PLC/inverter familiarity.
• Able to troubleshoot process problems and maintain plant.

Responsibilities

• Monitor electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Carry out breakdown repairs in a timely manner.
• Provide assistance to other shift members as needed.
• Undertake site electrical installations and upgrade work as designated.
• Carry out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance per schedules.
• Be on call for a proportion of the time and cover holidays/sickness.
• Liaise with Shift Team Leader to ensure smooth factory operation.

The Position

Applications are invited for a Shift Electrician at the Companys SARVAL Nottingham site. This site is a 24-hour operation running 365 days per year. The role is a full-time permanent role, working 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts. There will be a requirement for you give on call support, which will be discussed at interview. You will be expected to cover shifts for holidays and sickness and work overtime as and when required.

As a Shift Electrician your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Companys requirements but will include:

Working under Health & Safety guidelines

To be initially responsible to Engineering Team Leader

To liaise with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes.

To understand all factory operations, including steam raising plant / Odour control and effluent treatment plant.

Monitor all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation.

Carry out breakdown repairs, as able, to factory equipment in a timely manner.

Provide assistance to other shift members, as necessary, when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management.

Site Electrical installations and upgrade work, as designated by the Electrical Team Leader.

To carry out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules.

To be on call for a proportion of the time.

The Person

You must have served a recognised City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship.

Have extensive electrical experience working in a continuous process environment.

Have experience of handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns.

Have proven experience with fault finding.

Be able to troubleshoot and solve process problems.

Be familiar with general factory maintenance practices.

Be conversant with basic PLC logic and inverter drives.

Basic mechanical skills.

Experience of plant operations.

You must be able to work using your own initiative.

Self-motivated and able to work on your own or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and ability to converse at all levels.
