Job summary

SARIA Ltd is seeking a Shift Electrician for its Nottingham site. The role operates 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts at a 24/7 facility. On-call support, holiday/sickness relief, and overtime may be required.

You will work with the Engineering Team Leader and Shift Team Leader to ensure smooth plant operations. Applicants should have a City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship, extensive experience in continuous processes, fault-finding ability, PLC logic knowledge, and basic mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognised City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship.
• Extensive electrical experience in a continuous process environment.
• Experience with electrical maintenance and breakdowns.
• Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations and upgrade work as directed by leadership.
• Perform routine electrical or mechanical maintenance per planned schedules.
• Monitor electrical equipment and carry out breakdown repairs promptly.
• Work safely under Health & Safety guidelines and support shift team leaders.

The Position

Applications are invited for a Shift Electrician at the Company's SARVAL Nottingham site. This site operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The role is a full-time permanent position, working 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts. There will be a requirement for on-call support, which will be discussed at the interview. You will be expected to cover shifts for holidays and sickness and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Working under Health & Safety guidelines
• Initially responsible to the Engineering Team Leader
• Liaising with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes
• Understanding all factory operations, including steam raising plant, odour control, and effluent treatment plant
• Monitoring all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation
• Carrying out breakdown repairs on factory equipment in a timely manner
• Providing assistance to other shift members when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management
• Performing site electrical installations and upgrade work as designated by the Electrical Team Leader
• Carrying out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned schedules
• Being on call for a proportion of the time

The Person

• Must have served a recognised City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship
• Extensive electrical experience in a continuous process environment
• Experience of handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns
• Proven fault-finding skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve process problems
• Familiarity with general factory maintenance practices
• Knowledge of basic PLC logic and inverter drives
• Basic mechanical skills
• Experience with plant operations
• Ability to work independently and on initiative
• Self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
