Job summary

Edwards & Pearce is recruiting on behalf of a long standing Doncaster employer to appoint a Shift Electrician. The role covers industrial electrical installation and day-to-day maintenance of plant and machinery.

This is a full‑time position, averaging 42 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off 12‑hour shift pattern, including days and nights. Applicants should have a recognised Electrician Apprenticeship/Qualification and experience with PLC logic and inverter drives.

Qualifications

• Must have recognised Electrician Apprenticeship/Qualification.
• Extensive electrical experience in a continuous process environment.
• Familiar with general factory maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of PLC logic and inverter drives.
• Able to work well individually and as part of a team.
• Able to work under pressure, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Good communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing electrical installation works for all industrial applications.
• Day to day maintenance of all plant and machinery.
• Conduct risk assessments on all jobs before undertaking any work/tasks.
• Ensure that logs and job sheets are filled in as required.
• Keep working area clean and tidy on completion of tasks.
• Install and maintain new and existing equipment, ensuring production is not interrupted.
• Assist other mechanical/operational departments when required.
• Provide support to the Maintenance Team and cover shifts for holidays/sickness.
• Assist in any other duties as required by Management/site.
• Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety requirements.

Our client is a long standing and reputable business who has a market-leading presence in a wide range of sectors associated within the food chain. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Shift Electrician to join their professional team at their site in Doncaster.

The Position:

As a Shift Electrician your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company's requirements but will include:

• Ongoing electrical installation works for all industrial applications.
• Day to day maintenance of all plant and machinery.
• Conduct risk assessments on all jobs before undertaking any work/tasks.
• Ensure that all logs and job sheets are filled in as required.
• Ensure that the working area is clean and tidy on completion of any job/task.
• To install and maintain new and existing equipment, whilst ensuring production is not interrupted.
• Assisting other mechanical/operational departments when required.
• Provide support to the Maintenance Team and cover shifts for holidays/sickness when the business requires.
• To assist in any other duties as required by Management/site.
• Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, whilst complying with the Company's Health and Safety requirements to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

The Candidate:

• You must have served a recognised Electrician Apprenticeship / Qualification.
