Job summary
McCarthy Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Shift Electrical Engineer to maintain reliability in a large-scale automated site in West Sussex. The role covers fault finding, maintenance and safe operation of electrical plant.
You will read electrical drawings, work on motors, MCC panels and PLCs, and support continuous improvement with the engineering team. Shift pattern is 4 on/4 off with day and night shifts.
Qualifications
- Electrical engineering qualification and strong fault-finding skills.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing or automated environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Experience with motors, control panels and industrial electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and restore systems safely.
- Perform planned preventive maintenance to high standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across plant equipment.
- Identify recurring issues to improve long-term reliability.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Support continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
