Position: Shift Electrical Engineer

Equans is seeking a Shift Electrical Engineer to work on our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week on a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, from 7am to 7pm, including an on-call rota.

Responsibilities

1. Perform electrical maintenance of relevant assets, especially lighting and small power, following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance.
2. Complete reactive tasks as they arise.
3. Carry out risk assessments before work.
4. Conduct day-to-day maintenance, repairs, fire alarm testing, and emergency lighting checks.
5. Rectify problems following proper procedures.
6. Identify and report safety, technical, and environmental issues.
7. Work as part of a wider engineering team, potentially undertaking tasks outside electrical systems.
8. Participate in on-call duties as part of a rota.

Candidate Requirements

• Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification/City and Guilds or equivalent
• 18th Edition Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing to BS standards
• Experience with HTMs
• Valid driving license
• Willingness to work out of hours if needed
• Desirable: Low Voltage Appointment (LV AP), Inspection and Test qualifications
• Ability to pass a DBS Standard check
