Murphy in Glasgow is seeking a SHES Advisor to support infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will help maintain management systems, conduct inductions, and ensure ISO standards.

You will perform site audits, document incidents, and keep training records, while promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. The role offers a hands-on environment with career development and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma in Health & Safety required.
• 3+ years relevant civil and renewables project experience.
• Solar farm construction experience advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Good IT skills with strong attention to detail.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems and ISO standards.
• Carry out inductions and documentation of site safety procedures.
• Produce monthly statistics and reports on safety metrics.
• Champion the Culture Development Programme and safety training.
• Carry out and document site audits and inspections.
• Stay up to date with safety, health and environmental legislation.
• Ensure personnel on site have prerequisite training records.
• Investigate, log and monitor incidents and non-conformances.
• Prepare and present toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.

A day in the life of a SHES Advisor:

• Assisting in maintenance of the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems and to ensure continued compliance with ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.
• Carrying out inductions
• Producing monthly statistics
• Champion Culture Development Programme (behaviour-based safety programme)
• Carry out and document site audits and inspections.
• Keeping up to date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.
• Ensuring personnel on site have the pre-requisite training records.
• Investigating, logging, and monitoring of Incidents and Non-conformances
• Completing all necessary report forms
• Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and helping set-up of appropriate controls
• Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available.
• Prepare and present toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
