Job summary

Hyreus in Glasgow seeks an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead safety, health, environment and quality across highways and infrastructure projects. You will work with project teams and management to implement policies, manage risk and drive continuous improvement.

You will hold NEBOSH/IOSH qualifications, have strong knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, and be skilled at stakeholder engagement, audits and RAMS development to ensure compliance and a positive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a SHEQ/QESH manager in highways, civil engineering or construction.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety, environmental and quality legislation.
• NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent qualification; ISO 9001/14001/45001 knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SHEQ activities across highways and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures and management systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Provide RAMS guidance and ensure corrective actions.
• Monitor performance, prepare reports and present to senior management.
• Support incident investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Promote SHEQ culture with training and toolbox talks.
• Ensure environmental controls, waste management and sustainability initiatives.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders on SHEQ matters.
• Keep up to date with legislation and industry best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
