Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator to join a busy manufacturing operation in Dewsbury. You’ll spend time on the factory floor with production teams and support audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, training and continuous improvement.

The role offers exposure across the site, with opportunities to influence at all levels and drive improvements in safety performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in Health & Safety / SHE, preferably in manufacturing.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or willingness to achieve within 12 months.
• Strong communication skills and ability to deliver training.
• A practical, proactive approach to workplace safety.
• Able to influence change and challenge unsafe practices.

Responsibilities

• Support risk assessments, SSOPs and safe working procedures.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Carry out audits, inspections and behavioural observations.
• Manage SHE actions, KPIs and improvement plans.
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and SHE training.
• Support contractor management and site compliance.
• Provide practical H&S advice to employees and management.
• Support occupational health monitoring (noise, air quality, HAV).
• Help implement wider Group SHE initiatives and projects.
• Monitor environmental compliance and permit requirements.
• Collaborate with production and management to improve safety performance.

This is a varied, practical role with plenty of visibility across the site. You’ll spend time on the factory floor working with production teams, while also supporting audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, training and continuous improvement.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting risk assessments, SSOPs and safe working procedures
• Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions
• Carrying out audits, inspections and behavioural observations
• Managing SHE actions, KPIs and improvement plans
• Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and SHE training
• Supporting contractor management and site compliance
• Providing practical H&S advice to employees and management
• Supporting occupational health monitoring, including noise, air quality and HAV
• Helping implement wider Group SHE initiatives and projects
• Monitoring environmental compliance and supporting permit requirements
• Working closely with production and management teams to improve safety performance

The key to this role is being visible, approachable and willing to get involved. You’ll have the opportunity to influence people at all levels and help drive genuine improvements across the site.

What are we looking for?

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience within Health & Safety / SHE, preferably in manufacturing
• NEBOSH General Certificate or a willingness to achieve it within 12 months
• Strong communication skills and confidence delivering training
• A practical, proactive approach to workplace safety
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• The confidence to challenge unsafe practices and influence change

IEMA Foundation and IOSH membership would be advantageous.
