Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited represents a specialist UK power engineering contractor seeking a SHEQ Advisor to support health, safety and environmental standards across projects from North London to the South Midlands, with regular travel required. You will assist the SHEQ Manager, review risk assessments and method statements, and conduct site visits to monitor compliance and drive improvements.

Please note a full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a health, safety and environmental role.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
• Experience reviewing risk assessments, method statements and project documentation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and build strong relationships with project teams.
• A proactive approach to identifying improvements and driving positive change.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the SHEQ Manager in the implementation and continual improvement of health, safety and environmental standards.
• Review project safety and environmental documentation as part of the approval process.
• Carry out specialist risk assessments where competent, including: Fire Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Environmental Assessments, Lifting Assessments.
• Conduct desktop audits to ensure project teams maintain compliance with company procedures and documentation requirements.
• Assist in the development, review and enhancement of company policies, procedures and management systems.
• Provide advice and support to project teams on SHEQ-related matters.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and help drive best practice across the business.
• Undertake regular site visits to monitor compliance and support operational teams.
