Job summary

Hamilton is seeking a SHEQ Advisor in Dartford, Kent, to join a specialist contractor delivering façade remediation, EWI, retrofit and social housing decarbonisation across London and the South East. This full-time, permanent role combines office and site-based work, with a focus on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across live projects.

You will inspect, audit and review risk assessments, support site teams with compliance, and help drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is required.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections and safety reviews across multiple projects.
• Support site management with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance.
• Produce and review risk assessments, method statements and SHEQ documentation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and drive corrective actions.
• Deliver SHEQ toolbox talks and training to site teams.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Assist with maintaining ISO management systems and external audits.
• Monitor environmental performance and promote sustainable practices.
• Prepare SHEQ reports and track corrective actions to completion.
• Build strong relationships with operational teams, subcontractors and clients.

SHEQ Advisor opportunity available with a leading specialist contractor delivering façade remediation, external wall insulation (EWI), retrofit and social housing decarbonisation projects across London and the South East.

The Role

As SHEQ Advisor, you'll work closely with operational teams across multiple live construction projects, ensuring the business maintains the highest standards of health & safety, environmental compliance and quality assurance.

You'll split your time between Hamilton's Dartford office and project sites across the South East, providing practical SHEQ support to site teams, carrying out inspections and audits, investigating incidents and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews across multiple projects.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a SHEQ Advisor, HSEQ Advisor, Health & Safety Advisor or similar within construction.
• Experience working on façade, cladding, refurbishment, retrofit, social housing or main contracting projects is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and construction best practice.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel regularly to projects across London and the South East, as well as Hamilton's Dartford office.
