Job summary

MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy is seeking an SHEQ Advisor to support live construction projects across Northern Ireland and the UK. You will provide HSEQ guidance, conduct site inspections, and help ensure compliance with RAMS, COSHH and safe systems of work.

You will contribute to continual improvement of HSEQ processes, assist with investigations, and support ISO 45001/14001/9001 certification efforts. Regular site travel and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' HSEQ or Health & Safety experience within construction.
• Strong practical experience on live construction sites.
• Experience with RAMS, investigations and corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of UK/NI construction H&S requirements.
• Willingness to travel and full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide HSEQ advice and support across live construction projects.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and monitoring.
• Review RAMS, COSHH, lifting plans and safe systems of work.
• Monitor high-risk activities and ensure compliance across projects.
• Support subcontractor documentation, inductions and toolbox talks.
• Assist with accident, near-miss and environmental investigations.
• Track HSEQ actions in Procore.
• Support ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 audits and systems.
• Contribute to HSEQ reporting and improvements.
• Travel to project sites across NI and wider UK.

MCS Group is recruiting an SHEQ Advisor for our client, a growing construction company delivering projects across Northern Ireland and the wider UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional to support live projects while contributing to the company's wider HSEQ systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HSEQ advice and support across live construction projects.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and HSEQ monitoring.
• Review RAMS, COSHH assessments, lifting plans and safe systems of work.
• Monitor high-risk activities and support compliance across projects.
• Support subcontractor documentation, inductions, toolbox talks and safety campaigns.
• Assist with accident, near-miss and environmental investigations.
• Track and close out HSEQ actions through Procore.
• Support ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems and certification audits.
• Contribute to HSEQ reporting, KPIs, compliance reviews and continual improvement.
• Travel regularly to project sites across NI and the wider UK.

Requirements

• 2+ years' HSEQ or Health & Safety experience within construction.
• Strong practical experience on live construction sites.
• Experience with inspections, RAMS, investigations and corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of UK/NI construction H&S requirements.
• Working towards NEBOSH Diploma, Level 6 or equivalent.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Strong communication skills and confidence challenging non-compliance.
• ISO, auditing, SafeContractor or Procore experience would be advantageous.
