Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker in Alcester to join a growing manufacturing organisation specialising in precision fabrications for the aerospace and power generation sectors. The role requires hands-on work with metal components and sheet metal, using a range of hand tools and bench finishing equipment.

The successful candidate will perform fettling, deburring, welding dress, surface finishing, and inspection to strict specifications, with a permanent contract and fixed shift

Qualifications

• Experience using a range of manufacturing hand tools.
• Experience with metal components or sheet metal fabrication.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Carry out bench fettling, deburring and finishing of precision thin gauge sheet metal components.
• Dress and blend welds to customer and engineering specifications.
• Polish exotic metal components to the required surface finish.
• Set and fit finished parts to castings and/or gauges using metalwork techniques.
• Safely operate handheld pneumatic tools, belt linishing equipment and other finishing tools.
• Use measuring equipment to inspect components against drawings and specifications.

Job Description

• Carry out bench fettling, deburring, and finishing of precision thin gauge sheet metal components.
• Dress and blend welds to customer and engineering specifications.
• Polish exotic metal components to the required surface finish.
• Set and fit finished parts to castings and/or gauges using metalwork techniques.
• Safely operate handheld pneumatic tools, belt linishing equipment and other bench finishing tools.
• Use measuring equipment to inspect and verify components against engineering drawings and specifications.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Well-versed using a range of manufacturing hand tools
• Confident completing hands-on manufacturing tasks with metal components or sheet metal (deburring/fettling/linishing/air grinding etc)
• Positive attitude with the willingness to learn
