Job summary

WEC based in Darwen is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our busy Special Projects team. You will perform TIG welding and fabrication of sheet metal on a variety of projects, reading engineering drawings to specification and contributing to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• TIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Brake press setting and operating experience.
• Use of basic inspection equipment.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Good communicator at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld sheet metal to drawing specifications.
• Work within the fast-paced Special Projects team.
• Interpret drawings and ensure quality workmanship.
• Operate brake presses and related equipment.
• Maintain inspection checks and documentation.

Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

Reporting To: General Manager

Hours: Monday -Thursday 0800 – 1700 and Friday 0800 – 1400

Privately owned for over 45 years and now one of the North West’s leading & multi award winning Engineering companies, WEC is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Material Handler to join our busy and expanding Special Project team based in Darwen.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding and unique team within an award winning company.

Role Overview

Working within the fast paced Special Projects team, you will be working on TIG Welding and Fabrication of sheet metal on varied projects.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

• TIG Welding & Fabrication Experience
• Experienced reading and working from engineering drawings
• Experience in brake press setting & operating
• Use of basic inspection equipment
• Ability to work effectively and use own initiative
• Good communicator at all levels
