Job summary

Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Metalwork Fabricator / Welder to join an established engineering team. You will work on sheet metal fabrication up to 6mm, performing TIG and MIG welding to tight tolerances and reading technical drawings.

Based in the Croydon area, the role offers a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with 4 weeks’ holiday and PPE provided. A permanent, full-time position with opportunities to join a skilled workforce.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fine Limit Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator.
• Strong ability to read and work from technical drawings.
• TIG and MIG welding experience.
• Experience using CNC and manual brake presses and guillotines.
• Experience with different metals and sheet materials up to 6mm.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Carry out fine limit and general sheet metal fabrication.
• Work with a variety of metals up to 6mm.
• Use a range of sheet metal machinery, hand tools and equipment.
• Operate guillotines, CNC and manual brake presses.
• Carry out TIG and MIG welding.
• Complete grinding, finishing and preparation work to a high standard.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to required tolerances.
• Produce high-quality finished products with great attention to detail.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fine Limit Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator with a strong background in sheet metal fabrication, welding and finishing to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be working with a variety of metals and sheet materials up to 6mm, producing high-quality finished products while working accurately to drawings, specifications and required tolerances.

Metalwork Fabricator / Welder Responsibilities

• Proven experience as a Fine Limit Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator - ESSENTIAL


• Strong experience across all aspects of sheet metal fabrication - ESSENTIAL


• Confident reading and working from technical drawings - ESSENTIAL


• TIG and MIG welding experience - ESSENTIAL


• Experience using CNC and manual brake presses and guillotines - ESSENTIAL


• Experience working with different types of metal and sheet materials up to 6mm - ESSENTIAL


• Excellent attention to detail and pride in work - ESSENTIAL


• Confident, organised and methodical approach to work - ESSENTIAL


• Strong problem-solving skills - ESSENTIAL


• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated - ESSENTIAL


• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently - ESSENTIAL

CAD knowledge would be desirable but is not essential.
