Job summary

Manpower (United Kingdom) is hiring for a permanent, full-time Sheet Metal Welder. Mon-Fri hours with early finish on Friday, onsite parking, and enrollment onto the company pension scheme.

Salary £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience, with opportunity to work on varied projects in a stable, growing business. You will MIG and TIG weld on mild steel, Zintec, and stainless, read engineering drawings, set up Press Brake machinery, and maintain quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience within a sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Strong MIG and TIG welding experience on Mild Steel Zintec Stainless Steel Thin gauge materials up to 3mm.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Skilled in using hand tools to achieve a high-quality finish on welded sheet metal components.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble high-quality sheet metal components.
• Carry out MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials.
• Set up and operate Press Brake machinery efficiently and safely.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Complete fabrication and finishing work to a high standard.
• Use hand tools and workshop equipment to prepare and finish components.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production deadlines and customer requirements.

Desirable Skills

• Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience with TIG welding Aluminium.
• Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence.
