Job summary

Evapco is seeking a shop floor associate to handle basic sheet metal operations, cutting, breaking and sorting of parts. You will participate with the team to solve problems around quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements.

Job involves meeting safety, quality, 5-S and productivity targets, attending training, and willingness to learn. 12-hour shifts are typical with paid lunch, Friday-Sunday, and the potential for growth within a thriving, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Must have basic shop math; read production orders and shop drawings.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be familiar with common hand and power tools.
• Ability to read tape measures within 1/32" and work in manufacturing/outdoor environments.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity targets; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Basic Sheet Metal machine operations; cutting, breaking, and sorting of parts
• Participate in team and shop business problem solving activities that include quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements
• Meet or exceed annual safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity targets
• Attend training courses as directed by management
• May perform other duties, as assigned
• Willingness to learn
• Ensures adherence to company policies and work rules, as well as insuring a safe work environment is maintained
• Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
• Strive to continually improve quality, safety, 5-S, and productivity within your areas of responsibility
• Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1/32"
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
• Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings
• Familiar with common hand and power tools

Physical Requirements:

• Manufacturing and outdoor environments
• Continuous standing, sitting, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
• Lifting of 50 lbs or more with assistance; two-person lift or mechanical
• Wear PPE when required
• 12-hour shifts, paid lunch, Friday-Sunday
• Work 34.5 hours and paid for 40
