Job summary

Teaching Vacancies in the United Kingdom is seeking a Farm and Estate Technician (Sheep) to lead the development and management of the 150-ewe sheep enterprise on the college's 162ha estate. The role is 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, and works closely with the Head of Estate to run day-to-day flock operations.

The successful candidate will manage grazing and forage planning, lambing, flock health, data recording and will provide practical learning opportunities for students.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sheep husbandry and health management (essential).
• Ability to demonstrate livestock husbandry and machinery skills to students.
• Able to operate tractors and telehandlers safely.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day running of the college sheep flock.
• Perform daily checks, feeding, bedding, and lambing tasks.
• Administer basic treatments and vaccinations.
• Demonstrate livestock husbandry and machinery skills to students.
• Operate tractors and telehandlers for tasks and forage production.
